LCD

Hamburg, April2014
Sharp Devices Europe has today announced a ground-breaking partnership with Amscreen that will see their technologies combined to create the first truly affordable and scalable outdoor screen solution.

High levels of contrast, brightness and sturdy construction – Sharp adds two new models to its range of 15-inch industrial displays.

The new 12.1'' (31 cm) industrial TFT LCD with 800 cd/m² expands Sharp's series of high brightness displays with a very robust model. The company now offers four TFT LCDs with brightness levels exceeding 600 cd/m².

From 80 inches down to just a little more than1 inch: Sharp shows latest innovations in the range of e-signage displays, industrial grade TFT LCDs and Memory LCDs for low power applications at the stands of different partners: Arrow (hall 5, booth 405 and hall 4A, booth 206), Avnet Embedded (hall 1, booth 249) and Data Modul (hall 1, booth 356).

With the new e-Signage series, Sharp gets started in 2012 by concentrating on diagonals between 60 and 80 inches. The portfolio includes high-brightness screens with up to 2,000 cd/m², ultra high resolution displays, and large-size standard LCDs that are especially optimised for applications in the signage sector.

Arrow Electronics and Sharp are to present for the first time a reference design for extreme power-saving, mobile applications at the Design & Electronics Developer Forum “Ultra Low Power” on 5th October. Even in full operating mode, the Oryx Board has an input power of only 26 mW*.

High brightness displays for e-kiosk applications and vending machines are in the focus of Sharp's presentation at the stand of Avnet Embedded during Screenmedia EXPO (London, UK, May 18/19 and Digital Signage EXPO (Essen, Germany, May 24-26).

Sharp has extended its industrial display portfolio with two high-brightness models with 19-inch (48 cm) and 23-inch (59 cm) diagonal screens, LED backlighting, and a service life of up to 50,000 hours

Hamburg, 1st March 2011 - Displays for total or partial outside use must be of a high standard. Above all, this includes robustness, resilience to temperature changes and adaptability to changing light conditions. With its industrial grade high‑brightness displays with LED backlighting, Sharp offers TFT-LCDs ideal for outdoor and semi-outdoor use.

Combining excellent image quality with high durability the High Contrast display offers new opportunities for design of vehicle panels and car infotainment systems.

Electronica, 14. – 17. November 2006 – In Munich Sharp introduces a newly developed LCD for in-vehicle applications. It features a contrast ration of 1,500:1, currently, the display with the highest contrast ratio avail-able.

New anti-reflection technology from Sharp reduces reflections to 0.2 percent of the incident light whilst at the same time increasing the mechanical stability of the display.

Electronica, 14 – 17 November 2006 – The recently developed low-reflection technology from Sharp (Hall A3, Stand 424) offers two advantages at the same time for the latest generation of industrial TFTs: an almost total extinction of disruptive light reflections plus increased stability.
