Sharp presents a new generation of its Mini Zenigata LEDs

The new generation of the 4W and 7W Mini Zenigata series from Sharp shines with an efficiency of up to 91lm/W, a higher luminous flux of up to (typically) 585lm (typical), and it is available with a CRI value of (typically) 82.

Hamburg, 10 April 2012 – The new product generation is again based on a small plate made of technical ceramics (aluminium oxide Al2O3) with the dimensions 15mm x 12mm x 1.6mm. Efficiency was able to be improved by up to 11% due to technical progress. The new generation of 4 and 7W arrays is characterised by four properties: Compact, light, economical and noticeably brighter than before.
Depending on the module, the new types provide a luminous flux of up to (typically) 585 lumens, with a light efficiency of up to 91lm/W at nominal operating data, a high CRI value of 82, and a long service life of 40,000 hours at an operating temperature of up to 90°C.
The new generation of 4W arrays has a forward voltage of 9.6V with a constant current of 400mA, whereas the 7W arrays have a voltage of 12.3V with a current of 520mA. The 4W arrays, however, can also be operated with an increased constant current of 500mA, thus making them capable of reaching a luminous flux of up to 400lm. With the 7W arrays, a luminous flux of up to 830 lumens can be reached, if they are operated with a current of 680mA. The colour temperatures of the new white-light LED arrays range from 2,700 to 6,500 Kelvin’s, with the shades "Natural White", "Warm White" and "Pure White".
The very smooth surface of the ceramic underside of the Mini Zenigata makes it possible to attach the modules easily and safely on a suitable heat sink, in order to achieve efficient heat dissipation.
Thanks to the broad portfolio of its LED lighting arrays, Sharp is providing numerous marketable solutions for the use of LEDs as light sources for lamps and light fixtures. The luminous Mini Zeni LED modules from Sharp are suitable for a range of applications, e.g. spot lighting and for use in LED retrofit lamps, etc.

Availability
Initial samples are available in the colour temperatures of 3000K and 4000K. These can now be ordered from Sharp sales offices and distribution partners across Europe.
