Sharp LCDs made for e-signage
At Digital Signage EXPO Sharp is presenting a comprehensive portfolio of TFT LCD panels and solutions for e-signage applications together with its partners GDS, SASCO and ST-Vitrinen Trautmann. Highlights include the 82'' high brightness panel, an ultra high-resolution monitor with 8.8 million pixels and the world's largest LCD monitor with 108 inch.
Hamburg, 24 March 2009 – Ultra bright, ultra sharp, ultra large – Sharp will be presenting extreme highlights at this year's Digital Signage EXPO: at 2,750 cd on 1.83 m², the new 82-inch portrait LCD panel is one of the brightest liquid crystal displays available on the market in series production. Thanks to its brightness, size and orientation, the display is predestined for use in citylight format for out-of-home signage solutions. In contrast, the new 4k x 2k 64-inch landscape display – presented as a ready-to-use monitor solution including the complex power supply solution from Eyevis – with 8.8 million pixels offers ultra sharp images at a resolution of more than four times the resolution of the Full High Definition format. With the 108-inch monitor (currently the largest commercial LCD screen available on the market), Sharp provides impressive proof that there is no limit to what can be achieved with LC display technology, even in terms of screen diagonals. Anyone who wants to use the impressively large screen for single events can rent the monitor from Lang AG in Lindlar. Sharp's presentation is rounded off by an expanded e-signage display portfolio with 40-inch panels as a new screen size and a selection of industrial displays for e-kiosk applications.
In addition, Sharp partners are offering digital signage solutions based on Sharp LCD panels. The electronic poster is coming: as demonstrated by ST-Vitrinen Trautmann with a robust outdoor solution and GDS with a stylish indoor example – both based on a 65-inch portrait panel. In their e.Vitrum® series ST-Vitrinen Trautmann combines the clear and essential design with an integrated 65“ monitor for professional outdoor usage.
46-inch LCDs are an ideal size for professional monitors, e.g. as adverts at train stations (as shown by GDS with its Midas outdoor display solution). SASCO is presenting a 46-inch monitor with an integrated DST touch system for interactive digital signage applications. The specialist distributor is also presenting system solutions for selecting digital signage LCDs.
